Facebook is a big black hole where time goes to die. Hop on for a sec and, before you know it, three hours have passed!
My very funny and talented friend, and occasional client, Elayne Boosler has taken her Facebook obsession to the next level, though. She's recorded a fab new song that captures the whole Facebook phenomenon. Done in fast-moving rap-style, I love how she's included the lyrics in the video via Facebook status updates.
Check it out below and, if you enjoy it, be sure to "like" Elayne on Facebook for more good stuff!
Very nice! HIL-AR-I-OUS. Clocksucker indeed. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure! It's something that all too many people can relate to, huh?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Amber! You are the reason it happened, mentoring me in social media and teaching me everything. I blame you lol! You should be working 24/7 with your incredible skills. Companies should be fighting over you, I hope they are.
ReplyDeleteAlways a pleasure to work with a talent such as yourself, Elayne. I hope the song gets lots of traction!
ReplyDeleteOk, I will try to stay on point here..........that was great and very creative. Fortunately I haven't let FB suck(er) me in too deep. Yes I have an acct and 700+ friends but still probably wouldn't be able to fill a phone booth for my funeral.
ReplyDeleteBut name your poison; trying to figure Twitter out and at least get to a functional level has taken some time. It also takes time daily to engage and all the other stuff that goes with it.
Internet is evil; it's turning us into an out-of-shape, non-personal society. I didn't say social, but personal. I say this facetiously, but it has changed the dynamics of 'engagement'.
How'd I do?
Ha ha. Yep, my house would be much cleaner if it weren't for the distraction of the internet ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou did just fine, Mr. Silly Pants...
Hahahahaha This song is really brilliant, it's very true facebook takes alot our time & is a clocksucker.
ReplyDeleteElayne was using that phrase on her FB bio for years, so it was only fitting that she wrote a song with the same name.
ReplyDeleteThanks for listening, Eugene!
Re: "Facebook is a big black hole where time goes to die." <== Love it. And oh so true...
ReplyDeleteProps to Elayne on her creativity!
Ha ha. Too true, right?
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done!
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving a listen, Julie. I can only imagine how long it took to do that rap! :-)
